Plastic sticks to my sweaty thighs as my feet push back in vain against sand, sand and sand. Finally I am satisfied and I peel my clothing off, one flimsy article after another. Relative cold climbs up my ankles, my calves, my thighs, my butt. Sounds of joy I hardly recognize escape my lips as the water reaches the origin of me. I dive under, welcoming the overwhelming sensation of God. Surrounded. Encompassed. Overwhelmed. Eons of seconds later I surface, hair plastered over my eyes and ears, sealing me off from my limited reality. Opening the curtain, I am still. Smiling, I flip onto atmosphere trapped in lime green plastic. Warmth beats down and grabs water from my skin, leaving only crumbling salt. Never mind. There is more for us both.
